Sweet & Salty baked nuts
Another make-ahead recipe! They will keep in an airtight container. You can use whichever nuts you like for this.
(I’ve adapted the spiced mixed nuts recipe from the book “Christmas Cooking with Kids” by Annie Rigg)
You will need:
Medium sized bowl
Weighing scales
Table spoon (for mixing)
Measuring spoons
Baking tray
Baking paper
Ingredients:
100g shelled almonds
100g walnuts
100g cashew nuts
half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (or paprika)
half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 teaspoons of caster sugar
half a teaspoon of salt
freshly ground black pepper
Begin:
Preheat the oven to 190C, Gas 5.
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Line your baking tray with baking paper.
Spread the mixture evenly in a single layer on the baking tray.
Put the tray into the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden and crisp.
Remove from the oven and cool slighly before serving.
